About Gensaku
Gensaku (原作) means "the original work". We classify anime episodes as canon (adapts the original manga/story), filler (anime-original, skippable), or mixed (blends both) — so you can watch the story and skip the padding.
How we classify
- Multiple sources. Every classification starts from public episode guides, wikis, and manga-chapter mappings. A single source is never enough for a "verified" label.
- Conservative by default. If sources are uncertain or disagree, the episode is labeled mixed — never filler. Mislabeling canon as filler is the one error we refuse to make.
- Disputes stay visible. Episodes with conflicting sources appear as "under review" at the bottom of each series page instead of being silently published.
- Spoiler-safe. Our notes describe production facts ("anime-original episode"), never plot outcomes.
- Thumbnails are episode stills via the TMDB API, downloaded at build time and hosted by us.
